Step 1: Find a home builder you can trust.

Step 2: Financing.
Get an idea of how much house you can afford. How much money do you have to put down as a deposit? How much do you need to finance?
While it is not necessary to have a pre-approval letter from a bank when shopping for a new home, it is helpful to know how much you can afford to spend, and for how much you will qualify on a new home purchase.
Our preferred lender’s will let you know what price point would suit your budget and provide you with a conditional mortgage approval that will get you on your way to selecting your dream home with West Point Builders!
Step 3: Decide what options are important to you.
Why do you want to move? What would you like in a home that you do not currently have? What is your timeframe for purchasing a new home? What are the most important features in a new home? Balancing your budget with the desired options can be stressful. West Point Builders has experienced housing counselors who can help you through this process.
Step 4: Sign the building contract and give West Point Builders your earnest deposit.
Our Sales team will take you through the Sales agreement page by page and answer any questions you may have regarding your home purchase. At this time you will agree on the Earnest deposit required to start your new home. Within the next few weeks you will then be finalizing both your interior and exterior selections so we can prepare your start order to set expectations for building process)begin construction.
Step 5: Review your selections with our construction team at your pre-construction meeting
West Point Builders Construction staff will now sit down with you and review the details of your dream home with you. This is your first of 4 meetings you will have throughout the building of your home. At this meeting we will also discuss the timeline of construction. We are now ready to break ground!
Step 6: Attend scheduled construction meetings
- Pre-construction meeting (review and confirm selections, confirm excavation date, discuss timeline of construction)
- Pre-drywall meeting (inspect your home with construction team prior to your drywall installation)
- New Home Orientation (our construction team will help you better understand how to operate and maintain your new home)
Final Walkthrough (this will be your final meeting with construction prior to closing)
Step 7: Closing on your West Point Home
Once all inspections and walk-throughs are completed, you will sit at the closing table and officially buy the home, sign the appropriate mortgage documents, and become the owner of a brand new home!!
